Film body had demanded the removal of actor from the film for working with Pakistani actress
Actor Diljit Dosanjh has found himself at the center of controversy following his association with Pakistani actress Hania Amir in Sardaar Ji 3. While facing opposition from various quarters, some film organizations have gone as far as demanding his removal from 'Border 2' and calling for a ban on the actor. However, recent reports suggesting his removal from the film have turned out to be completely false.
An insider close to the production has confirmed that there are absolutely no plans to replace Diljit Dosanjh in Border 2. The source revealed that Dosanjh was cast in the film approximately nine months ago, well before any controversy arose. Moreover, with more than half of the film's shooting already completed, making such significant changes would be impractical at this stage.
India Today's report had claimed recently that since the film Border 2 is based on the Indian Army, the makers have decided to remove Diljit from the film. Not only this, actor and singer Ammy Virk might replace him now.
Know what is the whole matter
Regarding casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in 'Sardaar Ji 3', the Federation said that Hania has shared anti-India posts on social media many times. The Federation has expressed displeasure over the fact that at a time when the entire country is united against terrorism, an Indian artist working with a Pakistani actress is against national sentiment.
Request to Sunny Deol to reconsider 'Border 2'
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has also written separate letters to Sunny Deol, Bhushan Kumar and Imtiaz Ali. In the letter sent to Sunny Deol, it is written that a film like 'Border 2', which is a symbol of patriotism and sacrifice, Diljit's presence in it sends a contradictory message. The federation has requested him to reconsider working with Diljit in this film.
Bhushan Kumar accused of violating boycott directive
In a letter written to T-Series Chairman Bhushan Kumar, FWICE has also objected to Diljit's casting in the film 'Border 2'. FWICE says that this decision is a clear violation of the boycott directive issued by the federation. This directive was issued when Diljit worked with Pakistani actress Hania Amir in the film 'Sardaar Ji 3'. The federation has requested Bhushan Kumar to reconsider the casting of Diljit Dosanjh.
Similarly, in the letter sent to Imtiaz Ali, the Federation has appealed to him regarding working with Diljit in his upcoming film, asking him to reconsider Diljit's casting and not work with any artist who has been officially boycotted by the Federation.
