Rohit Sharma helped India win the T20 World Cup last year and thus ended the nation's wait for a first ICC trophy in over 11 years. The trophy was not only a dream come true for the players, but it was also retribution of sorts for the heartbreak of the 2023 ODI World Cup final loss to Australia.

During a recent chat with Star Sports, Rohit Sharma recalled the semi-final clash against England and his mindset to keep attacking the opposition bowlers despite the advice from Suryakumar Yadav to go easy.

During the match, Rohit was heard telling non-striker batsman Suryakumar Yadav that if he gets the ball in his range, he will deliver it out of the park.

"Lag raha hai? Muh pe dega na toh deta hu," said Rohit.

"Surya was telling me you play easy, I will do the hitting but I told him that won't work, we both need to hit them, (dono marenge).

After a while, SKY pointed out that the two of them had stitched a century partnership but Rohit insisted that they should keep attacking to take England bowlers out of the game.

"I told him yeah that's fine, I have that in my mind, but if they bowl the ball near my feet, I will not hesitate to strike the ball," he added.
